On Thursday, Oct. 24, in celebration of National Food Day (http://www.foodday.org/), there will be a special, free screening of the Truck Farm documentary followed by a Q&A session and a chance to check out Tampa’s Truck Farm (http://truckfarmtampa.com/)
Chipotle Mexican Grill, a founding partner of the Truck Farm Tampa Cultivate Tour, is donating a limited amount of food (no beverages provided) that will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. at Juniper Poplar Hall.
The 45-minute movie will be shown at 7 p.m. and representatives of Truck Farm will host a Q&A immediately following the screening.
As part of the 2013 Chipotle Truck Farm Tour, the truck will be parked in the lot outside of Juniper Poplar Hall that evening.
Food Day is a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable and sustainable food.
“Truck Farm” is a movie about how the mobile farming movement began in Brooklyn, N.Y. Truck Farm Tampa is operated by Fit Kids Playground. Marisa Langford, founder of Fit Kids Playground, a health and wellness resource based in Tampa, discovered Truck Farm Chicago during the summer of 2011 and got the idea to bring the concept to Tampa.
